Locking Compression Plate Fixation with Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis in The Treatment of School-age Children Femoral Fractures
Abstract:Objective To study the effect of locking compression plate fixation with minimally invasive plate osteosynthe-sis in the treatment of school-age children femoral fractures. Methods From June 2010 to June 2014,a total of 25 cases of children femoral fractures, including 15 males and 10 females aged 8. 11 ± 1. 32(6 ~ 12 years)were studied. Incision was divid-ed into two kinds:The simple fracture, two vertical incisions(3 centimeters long)started at the ends of axis of lateral femoral incision. The plate was introduced submuscularly by gently advancing it toward the opposite end. The comminuted fracture, small incision started at the broken ends, the plate was introduced submuscularly by gently advancing it toward the two ends, all the density of screw was less than 0. 5. All patients were treated with locking compression plate fixation with minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis. Results The patients were foIlowed up for 6 ~ 12 months(average 8 months),bone union was achieved with a mean period of 6 weeks, and the internaI fixation was removed 6 ~ 8 months postoperativeIy. According to the functional rehabilitation classification standard of Klemm, the excellent and fair rate was 100% . Conclusion Locking compression plate fixation with minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis in the treatment of children femoral fractures is a miminal invasive proce-dure of enabling solid bone union with a high union rate and fewer complication.
