Comparison of the PEEK PREVAIL System and the Traditional Anterior Cervical Anterior Decom-pression and Fusion Surgery in the Treatment of Single Segment Cervical Spondylosis

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of anterior cervical implant PEEK PREVAIL system and traditional anterior cervical decompression and bone graft fusion in the treatment of single segment cervical spondylosis. Methods The clinical data of 67 patients with single segment cervical spondylosis patients admitted to our hospital were divided into PEEK PREVAIL group(35 cases)and the traditional group(32 cases),and were retrospectively analyzed. Results The operation time,amount of bleeding,hospitalization time in the PEEK PREVAIL group,were significantly lower than the traditional group(P < 0. 05). The PEEK PREVAIL group and the traditional group had no difference in JOA,NDI,VAS score(P > 0. 05). 6 months after op-eration,JOA,NDI,VAS score was lower than that before operation in both group(P < 0. 05)significantly. PEEK PREVAIL group of patients'excellent and good rate was 91. 43% ,which was lower than that of the traditional group 93. 75% ,but the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0. 05). 6 months after operation,PEEK PREVAIL system group of the fusion rate was 100% ,and the traditional group of the fusion rate was 96. 9% . There was no statistically significant difference(P > 0. 05). PEEKPREVAIL group of patients with complications was 1 1 . 4 3 % ,which was lower than that of the traditional group were 46. 88% and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0. 05). Conclusion Compared with the traditional PEEK PRE-VAIL system,anterior cervical operation with anterior decompression and fusion for single segment cervical spondylosis has the advantage of shorter operation time,less bleeding,shorter hospital stay,lesspostoperative complications were low.
