Surgical Treatment of Navicular Bone Fracture
Abstract:Objective To evaluate clinical effect of surgery in treatment of navicular bone. Methods 13 cases(10 men, 3 women)of 25~59 years old(average 36. 5)with fracture of navicular bone were admitted from March 2008 to June 2014. According to Sangeorzan type,there were 11 typeⅡcases,and 2 typeⅢcases. All the patients underwent open reduction and internal fixation 4 h~12 d(average 6. 5 d)after injury. Results The patients obtained follow-up of 3~72 months(average 23months). The effect was evaluated based on Maryland scoring system. There were 4 excellent cases,6 good cases,2 fair ca-ses,and 1 poor case. 76. 9% of the patients recovered satisfactorily. Conclusion Rational management,early exercise,and late loaded walking considerably decrease the disability caused by fracture of navicular bone.
