Computerized Tomographic Assessment of Femoral Trochlear Angle in Teenagers
Abstract:Objective To provide the anatomic parameters and CT data of adolescents about knee joints for the femoral trochlear angle and provide reference for diagnoses and treatment of patellar instability. Methods 100 healthy volunteers(A total of 200 cases of knee joints)with 16 to 25 years were recruited to do a check of CT on knees in August 2013 to November 2013,and analyzed the data. Results In the 100 healthy volunteers the normal femoral trochlear angle was(148. 0 ± 7. 9)°. There were significant difference between males and females(P ﹤ 0. 001). There are no significant difference between right and left knee,no significant difference between different age and no significant difference between different BMI(P ﹥ 0. 05). Con-clusion This study measured the adolescent's femoral trochlear angle by CT,gave a preliminary analysis of the femoral troch-lear angle distribution characteristics, provide the patellar instability of disease diagnosis and treatment related basis.
