Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of acetabular dysplasia( AD)patients with atypical symp-toms. Methods 120 AD patients, diagnosed through bilateral hip anteroposterior X-ray in our hospital clinic from January 2013 to May 2014,were divided into typical group and atypical symptom group. Data on general conditions,X-ray findings, clinical symptoms and complications were investigated and statistically analyzed. Results Of the 120 AD patients,78 patients had no typical symptoms. There were more females in both groups and patients who were older than 50 years had a lower inci-dence rate of atypical symptom. There were statistically significant differences in terms of age distribution between two groups ( P<0. 05). There were no statistically significant differences in terms of Crowe classification on X-ray findings and complica-tions such as flatfoot, hallux valgus, genu varum between two groups(P>0. 05). Among atypical symptom group, lumbodynia symptom group accounted for 20. 5%,ipsilateral knee pain symptom group 15. 4%,and asymptomatic group 64. 1%. Conclu-sion AD patients with atypical symptom are common in clinic, and it is difficult to distinguish them with patients'symptom a-lone. The understanding of the clinical characteristics of AD patients with atypical symptoms should be improved and more at-tention should be paid to bilateral hip anteroposterior X-ray examination of suspected patients in order to improve the detecting rate of AD.
