The Finite Element Analysis in The Treatment of Femur Shaft Fracture by LCP
Abstract:Objective To research the difference of maximum stress among different positions of screws during the treat-ment of femur shaft fracture by LCP. Methods The CT data of femur from healthy volunteers and outline data of LCP were collected, then assembled together and analysed in FEA softwares. Results The maximum stress of LCP and screws were de-tected from the innermost screw and its corresponding hole, for simple fracture,it decreased while the innermost screw moves outside. And for communited fracture,it increased while the innermost screw moves towards outside. Conclusion For the sim-ple femur shaft fractures, the innermost screw should be as far from the fracture as possible and for the comminuted femur shaft fractures, the innermost screw should be as near to the fracture as possible.
