Efficacy Analysis of Multi-finger Reconstructing by Bilateral Second Toe Transplantation
Abstract：Objective To evaluate the treatment effect of multi-finger reconstruction with bilateral second toe transplanta-tion. Methods According to deficiency gradation of finger,we use bilateral second toe transplantation for finger reconstruc-tion. Results Among 20 cases,40 fingers,there were 10 cases of index finger and middle finger reconstruction,9 cases of thumb and index finger reconstruction,1 cases of middle finger and ring finger reconstruction. All reconstructed finger survived in 19 cases except for 1 toe necrosis in one case. All patients were followed up 3 to 24 months with an average of 13 months. The sense of pain and temperature of replanted fingers were good,and the two point discrimination of finger were 10 mm to 12 mm. Donor site:bilateral feet appearance are symmetrical,walking without pain and no limp. Conclusion There is less dam-age on foot and most hand function recovery using bilateral second toe transplantation to repair multiple fingers defect.
