Clinical Relativity of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor(VEGF)in Synovial Fluid and Serum of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis
Abstract:Objective To detect quantity of vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF)in synovial fluid and serum of pa-tients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, and explore the clinical significance. Methods Quantity of VEGF in the synovial fluid and serum was determined by ELISA. Results Quantity of VEGF in the serum and synovial fluid in RA cases (94. 41 ± 43. 32 ng/L,188. 26 ± 90. 76 ng/L)were significantly higher than those in OA cases(35. 60 ± 17. 08 ng/L,69. 72 ± 31 ng/L). The content of VEGF in the synovial fluid was higher than that in the serum, and correlation existed between the two indicators(r=0. 714,P<0. 001). Conclusion The content of VEGF of patients with RA is higher than that of patients with OA. The result is expected to provide a new idea for the discrimination of these two diseases.
