Treatment of Comminuted Humeral Intercondylar Fracture(Type C) Using Double Plates Tech-nique with the Trans-olecranon Osteotomy Approach
Abstract:Objective To investigate the the clinical results of the treatment of comminuted humeral intercondylar fracture ( Type C)using double plates technique with the trans-olecranon osteotomy approach. Methods 32 patients with comminuted humeral intercondylar fracture were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with the trans-olecranon osteotomy approach. The therapeutic effects and adverse reactions were observed. Results All the patients were followed up for 9 ~ 35 months. All the patients achieved bony union. According to Cassebaum score,excellent in 18 cases,good in 9 cases,fair in 4 cases and poor in 1case,the excellent and good rate was 84. 38%,no wound infection or neural injury occurred. Conclusion Treatment of comminuted humeral intercondylar fracture(Type C)using double plates technique with the trans-olecranon osteotomy approach has good therapeutic effects.
