Clinical application of Jinhu Tonglin capsule combined with finasteride in patients undergoing tran-surethral bipolar plasmakinetic prostatectomy

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical effect of Jin Hu Tonglin Capsule combined with finasteride in patients undergoing transurethral bipolar plasmakinetic prostatectomy(TUPKP).Methods:All 100 patients with benign prosta-tic hyperplasia admitted to urology department of Chuxiong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June,2022 to December,2024 were divided into observation group and control group according to treatment methods,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with finasteride,while the observation group was treated with finasteride combined with jinhu tonglin capsule.The perioperative indicators,residual urine in bladder(PVR),maximum urine flow rate(Qmax),quality of life score(QOL),international prostate symptom score(IPSS)and the effective rate were com-pared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was slightly higher than that of the control group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P＞0.05).There was no significant difference in operation time,tissue quality,between the two groups(P＞0.05).The amount of intraoperative bleeding,intraoperative irrigation and postoperative irrigation in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group,and the postoperative irrigation time was significantly shorter than that in the control group,there was significient difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,both groups of patients showed an increase in Qmax and a significant decrease in PVR compared to preoperative levels,and the Qmax in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group,and the PVR was significantly lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the IPSS and QOL scores of both groups of patients decreased compared to preoperative levels,and the IPSS and QOL scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The combined application of jinhu tonglin capsule and finasteride in patients with BPH before and after TUPKP operation can signifi-cantly reduce intraoperative bleeding,irrigation volume and postoperative PVR,improve postoperative Qmax and improve patients' quality of life.
