Abstract:Objective:To analyze the effect of stellate ganglion block combined with massage on the pain level and cervical vertebra function of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods:The data of 92 patients with CSR in hospital from March 2023 to March 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.Among them,46 patients treated with massage were listed as the control group, and 46 patients treated with ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block+massage were included in the experimental group by 1∶1 matching principle. The curative effect, cervical dysfunc-tion index(NDI)score, visual analogue scale(VAS)score, cervical flexion and extension, rotational range of motion, serum pain factors[substance P(SP),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),β-endorphin(β-EP)]and adverse reactionswere compared between the two groups. Results:The total clinical effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The NDI score and VAS score of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).The cervical flexion, extension, and rotation activities in the experimental group were greater than those in the control group after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, the levels of SP and PGE2 in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, while β-EP was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of stellate gan-glion block and massage has significant effects on patients with CSR,regulating the expression of pain factors, reducing pain levels, restoring mobility, and improving cervical vertebra function.
