Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of citicoline sodium tablets and hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)therapy for cognitive impairment in severe traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods:A total of 94 patients with severe TBI from January 2018 to March 2024 who were admitted in Quanzhou First Hospital were randomly divided into the observation group(n=47,Citicoline Sodium Tablets and HBO)and the control group(n=47,HBO).The clinical effi-cacy,cognitive function, cerebral hemodynamics, and nerve factors in both groups were compared. Results:The total ef-fective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of mini mental state examination(MMSE),montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA),cerebral blood flow(CBF),cerebral blood volume(CBV),and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in both groups were increased(P<0.05),and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of neuron specific enolase(NSE)in both groups were decreased(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group,(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of citicoline sodium tablets and HBO in the treatment of severe TBI can improve clinical effi-cacy,promote cognitive function recovery, and improve cerebral hemodynamics and cytokine levels.
