The effect of bupi dingyuan tang as an adjuvant treatment for chronic schizophrenia patients with spleen deficiency type

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of bupi dingyuan tang as an adjuvant treatment for patients with chronic schizophrenia of spleen deficiency type.Methods:All 98 patients with chronic schizophrenia of spleen deficiency type who received treatment in hospital were selected and included from September 2021 to September 2023.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into a control group of 49 cases who received conventional treatment,and an observation group of 49 cases who received supplementary treatment with bupi dingyuan tang on the basis of conventional treatment.The treatment effects,psychological symptoms[positive and negative symptom scale(PAN-SS)],and adverse reactions were observed in both groups.Results:The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 9 7.9 6％,while in the control group it was 8 3.6 7％,with a significant difference between the two groups(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no difference in the scores of each part of PANSS between the two groups(P＞0.05).After 6 weeks of treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group had lower PANSS scores in all parts(P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 4.08％,while in the control group it was 18.37％.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P＜0.05).Conclusion:In pa-tients with chronic schizophrenia of spleen deficiency type,the use of bupi dingyuan tang as an adjuvant treatment has a significant effect,can effectively improve their mental symptoms,and has good safety.
