Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical application value of the improved method of transthoracic axillary vein catheterization guided by B-ultrasound in emergency craniocerebral surgery patients. Methods:All 164 patients who underwent emergency craniocerebral surgery at the first people's hospital of nankang district, ganzhou city, from May 2022 to May 2023,were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 82 patients in each group, using a random number table method. The control group used B-ultrasound guided in-ternal jugular vein catheterization, while the observation group used B-ultrasound guided modified axillary vein cathe-terization through the chest wall segment. The relevant surgical indicators, puncture indicators, and complications of the two groups of patients were compared. Results:There was no significant difference in puncture time and indwelling time between two groups(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the success rates of single puncture, more than one puncture, and total puncture between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).The nursing difficulty score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The success rate of venous catheterization using the improved method of axillary vein through chest wall segment guided by ultrasound in emergency craniocerebral surgery patients is comparable to that of internal jugular vein catheterization. However, the former can reduce the incidence of complications and postoperative nursing difficulties, and has certain application value in emergency craniocerebral surgery patients.
