Abstract:Objective:To investigate the correlation between early peripheral blood leukocyte count and prognosis of patients with basal ganglia hemorrhage. Methods:The clinical data of 120 patients with basal ganglia hemorrhage from January 2020 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Within 24 hours of admission, venous blood was drawn from the patients for white blood cell count(WBC)test, and they divided into normal group(WBC<10× 10 9/L,n=54),ele-vated group[WBC(10~15)× 10 9/L,n=36]and significantly elevated group(WBC>15 × 10 9/L,n=30).Modified Rankin scale(mRS score)was used to evaluate the recovery of neurological function 21 days after the onset of the dis-ease.Results:The prognosis of the normal group was significantly better than that of the elevated group and the signifi-cantly elevated group(P<0.01),and prognosis of the elevated group was better than that of the significantly elevated group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:There is a significant relationship between early peripheral blood white blood cell count and prognosis in patients with basal ganglia hemorrhage, which can provide a certain basis for the diagnosis of patients with basal ganglia hemorrhage.
