Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of sodium nosinasone on biochemical indicators in the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy(SMA).Methods:A total of 40 SMA patients admitted to hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected, and all SMA patients received treatment with nosenazone sodium. The changes of liver function[alanine amin-otransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT)],renal function[urea(BUN),creatinine(CREA),cystatin C(CysC)],creatine kinase(CK),cerebrospinal fluid[glucose(Glu),Lactate dehydrogen-ase acid(LDH),cerebrospinal fluid protein(TPC)]were compared before and after treatment. Results:Compared with before treatment, the liver function indicators(ALT,AST,GGT)of the patient showed a significant increase on the 14th day of treatment, but showed a downward trend on the 28th day of treatment. The liver function indicators were close to the baseline level on the 63rd day,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).During the treat-ment period, there was no significant change in the renal function indicators(BUN,CREA,CysC)of the patient, and there was no statistically significant difference in various indicators compared at different time points(P>0.05).Dur-ing the treatment period, there was no significant change in cerebrospinal fluid indicators(GLU,LDH,TPC),and there was no statistically significant difference when comparing various indicators at different time points(P>0.05).Com-pared with before treatment, the CK of the patients decreased significantly after treatment, with a statistically signifi-cant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of SMA patients with NSS sodium is effective and beneficial for reducing their CK levels. It may have a temporary impact on their liver function. However,as the number of treatments increases, liver function indicators gradually return to normal, and there is no significant impact on the patient's kidney function, cerebrospinal fluid, and other indicators.
