Current situation analysis and improvement strategy of ethics committee of a cancer hospital

Abstract：Objective:To propose strategies to improve the ability of ethics review by analyzing the current situation of ethics committee's initial review ability.Methods:The acceptance date,meeting review date,approval date and re-re-view date of clinical tests were collected.The review efficiency was reflected by the time from clinical test acceptance to meeting review,the time from meeting review to review opinion,and the time from acceptance to review opinion.The consistency of review ability was reflected by the consensus rate of review opinions between chief review and meeting review and the consensus rate between previous opinions and re-review opinions.Results:From 2020 to 2022,the number of clinical tests increased year by year,and the proportion of phase Ⅰ and Ⅱ projects increased year by year,and the review rate after modification decreased year by year(x2=12.74,P＜0.001).Time from clinical test accept-ance to meeting review,time from meeting review to review opinion,and time from acceptance to review opinion showed a shortening trend year by year.There was no significant statistical significance in the review consensus rate.Conclu-sion:The review ability of Ethics Committee in Shanxi Cancer Hospital has been improved year by year,but there are still many shortcomings.It is imperative to increase the frequency of meeting review,realize electronic information man-agement,strengthen training,increase full-time staff and realize mutual recognition of ethics.
