Effect of five elements emotional nursing combined with Chinese and western medicine diet adjustment on constipation patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of five elements emotional regulation combined with traditional chinese and western medicine diet on preventing constipation in patients with thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures.Methods:From January 2021 to December 2022,80 patients with compression fractures and constipation of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were divided into a control group of 40 cases using a random number table method.Routine nursing interventions were given to the control group,while the observation group of 40 cases received five element emotional care combined with tradi-tional Chinese and western medicine dietary intervention.The psychological status,constipation situation and constipa-tion symptom scores of two groups were compared.Results:Before intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in the self rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self rating depression scale(SDS)between the two groups(P＞0.05).After 2 weeks of intervention,the scores of constipation symptoms in observation group was lower than cantrol group,there was significient difference.After 2 weeks of intervention,SAS and SDS were lower than before intervention,the observation group patients were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).After 2 weeks of intervention,the in-cidence of constipation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Ap-plying the combination of five elements emotional regulation and traditional Chinese and western medicine diet to pa-tients with thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures can effectively reduce the occurrence of constipation,improve the condition of constipation,and improve the patient's psychological state.
