Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of lipoic acid injection combined with mecobalamine on nerve conduction velocity in patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods:A total of 148 patients with type 2 diabetes pe-ripheral neuropathy treated in the diabetes department of Liling Yuanheng Hospital from June 2021 to September 2022 were randomly divided into the combination group(n=74)and the control group(n=74)according to the envelope method. Both groups were given routine hypoglycemic measures, the control group was given methobalamine treatment, and the combination group was given lipoic acid injection treatment.Blood glucose level, total symptoms score(TSS),nerve conduction velocity and inflammatory factor level before and after treatment were compared between the two groups to observe the occurrence of adverse reactions. Results:After treatment, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated blood glycoproteins,TSS score,C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalction(PCT)in two groups were lower than that befrone treatment, that in combination group were lower than those in con-trol group(P<0.05).After treatment, the TSS score of combination group was lower than that of control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of motor nerve conduction velocity(MNCV)and sensory nerve conduction velocity(SNCV)in peroneal nerve and common peroneal nerve in two groups were higher than that before treatment, that in combination group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the com-bined group(9.46%)was lower than that in the control group(24.32%),and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Lipoic acid injection combined with mecobalamine has significant curative effect in the treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients, which can improve blood glucose level, increase nerve con-duction speed, reduce inflammation and reduce adverse reactions, with high safety.
