Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of elcatonin in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods:All 97 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis admitted to our outpatient clinic were randomly divided into two groups. In the observation group, 52 cases were treated with elcatonin combined with mecobalamin, and 45 cases in the control group were treated with diclofenac sodium capsules and eperisone combined with mecobalamin. The VAS and JOA score data of the two groups before treatment, the 30 th, 60 th and 90 th days after treatment were evaluated and recorded. Then, these data were analyzed statistically. Results:There was a significant difference in the VAS score between the two groups in the 60 th and 90 th days after treatment (P<0.05).The improved index and improvement rate of the JOA scores in the two groups after medical treatment were all increased, but the improvement range of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of elcatonin can effectively allay the pain in waist and lower extremities in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, and improve the patients' dysfunction of the waist and lower extremities. Its overall clinical efficacy is significantly superior to diclofenac sodium capsules and eperisone. It is worth popularizing in clinical application.
