Comparative study on oral care methods for patients with orotracheal intubation

Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of modified oral care for patients with orotracheal intubation and improve the quality of oral care. Methods: From May 2017 to May 2018, 50 critically ill patients admitted to ICU in hospital were divided into two groups, 25 cases in each group. The control group received routine oral care, and the observation group received improved oral care. Results: The incidence of halitosis, oral infection and ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in the observation group was lower than that of the control group. Compared with the control group, P < 0. 05. and the control group, the number of 3 D and 7 d bacteria in the observation group proved to be less (P < 0. 05). Conclusion: For the patients receiving the oral tracheal intubation, the improved oral nursing can reduce the rate of oral infection and reduce the fine.
