Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical effects of rinse-free hand sanitizer in the removal of catheter fixing device. Methods: Total 132 cases who were used the A2 type catheter fixing device for patients were recruited in this study from May 1 to June 30 in 2018. All of them were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. When removed the catheter fixing device, the control group was given traditional method while the experimental group was received the rinse-free hand sanitizer catheter fixing device assisted removal based on the traditional method. The incidences of medical adhesive skin-related damage, the degree of pain and satisfaction to patients were compared between the two groups. Results: The incidences of medical adhesive skin-related damage (P < 0. 05) and the degree of pain (P < 0. 001) in experimental group decreased compared with control group, thereby a higher degree of satisfaction were observed for those who received rinse-free hand sanitizer catheter fixing device (P < 0. 001). Conclusion: Skin disinfection liquid could provide a better way to remove catheter fixing device, which was not only beneficial to reduce the incidence of medical adhesive skin-related damage and the local skin pain symptoms but satisfaction to patients.
