Analysis on the medication situation of children in the western outpatient and emergency department of Women and Infants Hospital of Zhengzhou

Abstract:Objective: To retrospectively investigate and analyze the medication situation of outpatient children in 2016 and 2017 in the western part of our hospital, so as to promote rational drug use. Methods: All the prescription information in December 2016 and December 2017 was extracted by the hospital information system (HIS) of our hospital. Results: According to the results of statistics in December 2016 and December 2017 outpatient children with drug overall situation is stable, after two years of outpatient prescription for elderly patients are about to about half of the total number of outpatient prescription. In 2016 and 2017, there are 3 kinds of drugs used by more than 50% of outpatient children, and nearly one-third of them are 2 kinds.A small proportion of single or greater than 4 drugs. As for western medicines, the frequency of taking them is the highest (57. 7% and 57. 1% respectively), which is much higher than other drugs. Drug use frequency, according to prevent or treat rickets drugs system diseases accounted for the largest, followed by treatment of upper respiratory tract infection drugs, treatment of the digestive system drugs also represents a significant share. Conclusion: The drug use of outpatient children in the western hospital of our hospital is in line with the design of outpatient departments, and the dosage of outpatient children is in line with the conventional dosage. Through statistical analysis of outpatient children's medication data, data support is provided for further study of the problems in children's medication.
