Effect of surgery for open intracranial injury of frontal orbit and anterior cranial base

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the operative results of 17 patients with open orbital anterior skull base craniocerebral injury. Methods:The clinical data of 17 cases of surgery for open intracranial injury of frontal orbit and anterior cranial base was analyzed retrospectively. All cases evacuation of hematoma and necrotic brain tissue,skull base repair and reconstruction of eyebrow. 3 cases underwent eyeball removal. Results:According to Glasgow Outcome Scal( GOS)score,level one 12 cases,lev-el two 2 cases,level three 2 cases,1 case died. Died for intracranial infection. No cases underwent permanent cerebrospinal flu-id leakage. Intracranial infection occurred in 7 cases after operation. 6 cases cured,1 died. Conclusions:Surgery effect of hema-toma and necrotic brain tissue removal,skull base repair and reconstruction of eyebrow is good,for open intracranial injury of frontal orbit and anterior cranial base.
