Abstract:Objective:To explore the role of cord blood test in the diagnosis of early-onset neonatal sepsis. Methods:Eighty newborns with neonatal sepsis who were born in January 2014 to May 2015,who had been diagnosed within 72 h after the onset of blood culture, were selected as the observation group. Eighty newborns without signs of infection were selected as the control group. In the observation group, fasting venous blood was collected before and during the initial period of hospitali-zation,CD4,CD8,procalcitonin(PCT)and endotoxin were detected, and the above indexes were detected in the control group. Results:There were statistically significant differences in CD4,CD8,PCT and endotoxin between the two groups on admission (P﹤0. 05). There were statistically significant differences in CD4,CD8,PCT and endotoxin between the two groups before treatment(P﹤0. 05). The umbilical cord blood and venous blood of procalcitonin, endotoxin, tlymphocyte subsets were detec-ted,cord blood procalcitonin, endotoxin, tlymphocyte subsets were significantly increased, especially calcitonin was the highest diagnostic value. Conclusion:Umbilical cord blood can be used as the earliest blood sample in neonatal, which shows great su-periority in clinical application. The umbilical cord blood index such as procalcitonin, endotoxin and tlymphocyte subsets can be extremely improve diagnosis accuracy of neonatal sepsis by earth.
