Abstract:Objective:To explore the MRI features of children cerebral paragonimiasis,so as to improve the awareness of the disease and diagnostic accuracy. Methods:The clinical and MRI findings of 16 cases with cerebral paragonimiasis confirmed by lab examination or surgical pathology were analyzed retrospectively,to summarize the relationship between MRI features and pathology changes. Results:All cases were performed plain and contrast MR scan,SWI scan in 6 cases. The lesions distributed in random ways and most lesions appeared as the assembling migrating shapes. 10 among these showed irregular and variable size hemorrhage, some cases presented as small lesions surrounded by disproportionately larger range of edema. MRI contrast-enhanced showed the nodular, single or multiple small ring enhancement and 5 cases showed"tunnel sign"obviously. The con-trast-enhanced type were meningeal type 3 cases, metastatic type 5 cases, cystic type 3 cases and mixed type 5 cases. Conclu-sion:MRI has important value in the early diagnosis of children cerebral paragonimiasis and provide guidance for clinical treat-ment,however,the final diagnosis need to combine with epidemic history and lab examination.
