Flucticuli tympanostomy in the treatment of refractory secretory otitis media

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of flucticuli tympanostomy and tympanocentesi in the treatment of pediatric refractory secretory otitis media(SOM). Methods:All 92 patients with refractory SOM were,on average,divided into two groups randomly:the control group and the flucticuli tympanostomy treatment group. Tympanocentesi and drug irrigation were used in the control group. Drug treatment and flucticuli tympanostomy were used in the flucticuli treatment group. The sta-tistics was used to compare the therapeutic effects of these two treatments. Results:The effective rate of flucticuli tympanostomy treatment group was 97. 83% ,which of the control group was 78. 26% . The results of two groups showed a significant differ-ence(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:Flucticuli tympanostomy under ear endoscope could be applied on the treatment of refractory SOM,which was proved to be convenient and notraumatic.
