Clinical effect comparion on glassfiber post with metal post on restoring the first mandibular molar

Abstract：Objective:To compare the efficacies of glassfiber post with metal post on restoring the first mandibular molar. Methods:Sixty - nine cases,with 73 teeth were divided into two groups. Glassfiber post and metal post were used to manufac-ture the post - core respectively,and all the teeth were restored with porcelain fused metal crowns. After two years,the clinical efficacy was evaluated by the occurrence of post - core loose or fall off,root fracture etc. Results:The success rate of fiber post is 97. 30% and that of metal post is 91. 67% ,and there was not a significant difference between them. Conclusion:Glassfiber post and metal post on restoring the first mandibular molar can get better clinical efficacy with proper indications.
