Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the value of the 131 I - whole body scan(131 I - WBS)combined with serum thyroglobulin (Tg)detection for removing residual thyroid with differentiated thyroid carcinoma(DTC)after their first 131 I therapy. Methods:From January 2011 to October 2014,94 patients were treated with 131 I therapy after operation. After 6 months, patients stop tak-ing thyroxine preparations 4 weeks. The serum Tg levels in patients were measured, and all patients were also performed 131 I -WBS. To observe the curative effect of removal of thyroid gland and provide guidance for follow - up treatment. All cases will be judged according to the standard of《131 I therapy for differentiated thyroid cancer guide》by Chinese society of nuclear medicine. Results:The study found that in the thyrotropic hormone(TSH)stimulated Tg ﹥ 1 μg/ L for the standard of success the sensi-tivity of diagnosis was 82. 1% ,specificity was 93. 9% . 131 I - WBS in the diagnosis of a successful sensitivity was 42. 3% ,spe-cificity was 91. 2% . The sensitivity of joint use was 92. 5% ,specificity was 84. 6% . Conclusion:The serum Tg test and 131 I -WBS imaging is a postoperative follow - up method for DTC patients. Combined detection can significantly improve the sensitiv-ity of DTC in patients with recurrence and metastasis diagnosis, make the right decisions for patients with postoperative staging and treatment, and improve the cure rate and survival.
