The investigation of the correlation between serum level of heart -type fatty acid binding protein and chronic heart failure

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the correlation between serum level of heart-type fatty acid binding protein( H-FABP)and chronic heart failure( CHF). Methods:A total of 60 patients with chronic heart failure( CHF group,classed by NYHA Ⅱ~Ⅳ)and other 60 cases without heart failure( control group)were enrolled in the same period. Blood routine bio-chemistry project,serum level of NT-proBNP and H-FABP was detected in both groups. The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter( LvEDD)and left ventricular ejection fraction( LvEF)were measured in all cases by cardiac color doppler ultra-sonic and the baseline data were recorded in details. The data were compared by statistical analysis in both groups. Results:Sig-nificant increased of serum H-FABP level was noted in CHF group compared with control group(P﹤ 0. 05),and indicated that it was positively correlated with the NT-proBNP level and cardiac function classes(r=0. 72,r=0. 56,P﹤ 0. 05). Ser-um level of H - FABP was positively correlated with LvEDD(r=0. 69,P﹤ 0. 05),but negatively correlated with LvEF(r=-0. 42,P﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The certain relevance may be found between serum level of H-FABP and CHF in this inves-tigation . H-FABP may participate in the occurrence and ventricular remodeling of CHF,which can provide certain clinical ref-erence value for early diagnosis,a degree of judgment and prognosis assessment of CHF.
