The value of multi-slice spiral CT in children airway foreign body before and after therapy

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT in children airway foreign body before and af-ter treatment. Methods:To analyze retrospective the image data of 20 children with airway foreign body,all examined by bron-choscopy and remove for eign bodies,all patients were performed 64-slice spiral CT examination before and after 3 days for-eign body taken out,applied MPR,Min-MIP,etc post-processing to reconstruct. Results:Ten cases foreign body in trachea and or tracheal bifurcation,6 cases in right bronchial,4 cases in left bronchus;accompanied sign:13 cases emphysema,2 cases pneumonia,5 cases atelectasis,1 case mediastinal emphysema. Follow-up after remove foreign body:19 cases airway mild nar-rowing,1 case no significant abnomal;13 patients emphysema were back to normal,2 cases atelectasis improved markedly,5 cases of pneumonia slightly absorbed. Conclusion:Multi-slice CT could accurately display the pediatric tracheal and bronchial foreign body location,size,accompanied signs,airway narrow degree,accompanied signs change,etc.
