Abstract:Objective:To study the application value of transthoracic echocardiography(TTE)in the second atrial septal defect(ASD)for screening patients for the treatment and the choice of a closure. Methods:Retrospective analysis of 45 patients with second ASD in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from 2012 to 2013,to add up the the morphology, size, maximum diameter of ASD,edge cases and so on by TTE preoperatively to predict the closure model and size. The transcatheter treatment was monitored under X - ray guidance and echocardiography. Results:Forty - four cases were plugged, the success rate was 97. 8% ,the coincidence rate of actual value and the predicted value of closure size was 93. 3% . Conclusion:TTE has very important application value in screening patients for the treatment of ASD closure and selecting the closure type and size.
