Effects of different doses of hydrochlorothiazide on long - term medication patients with blood uric acid and electrolyte

Abstract:Objective:To study the effects of different doses of hydrochlorothiazide on serum uric acid and electrolyte of the patients who long - term take hydrochlorothiazide. Methods:Nighty - eight cases of long - term taking hydrochlorothiazide were randomly divided into low dosage group(49 cases,12. 5 mg,bid)and high dose group(49 cases,25 mg,bid),8 weeks af-ter treatment follow - up of blood uric acid and electrolyte. Results:Serum uric acidi of low dose group was significantly lower than that in high dose group(P < 0. 05),serum potassium,sodium,chlorine was significantly lower than in the high dose group (P < 0. 05). Conclusion:Long term use of low dose hydrochlorothiazide is safer than using high doses of it.
