Abstract:Objective:To investigate the change of serum C - reactive protein and interleukin - 6 in patients with acute exacerbation and remission ofchronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and analyze itsclinical significance. Methods:Sixty - six subjects with AECOPD were collected from the respiration medicine and intention care unit(ICU)of the Tianjin 2thhospital from August 2013 to July 2014,and divided into AECOPD group(n = 44),respiratory failure group(n = 22),and fifty - two healthy as a control group. The levels of serum CRP,IL - 6 of all AECOPD patients before and after treatment and control group were detected. We collected all the data to make a statistical analysis. Results:The gender and age of the AECOPD group, respiratory failure group and control group had no statistical difference(P ﹥ 0. 05). The serum CRP and IL - 6 in pa-tients with acute exacerbation and remission of COPD were higher than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 01). The serum CRP and IL -6 of all AECOPD after treatment were more significantly reduced than before treatment(P ﹤ 0. 01). The serum CRP and IL - 6 of the respiratory failure group was higher than the AECOPD group(P ﹤ 0. 01). The results indicated that serum CRP was posi-tively correlated with IL - 6 in patients with AECOPD before treatment(r = 0. 516,P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The levels of serum CRP and IL - 6 are significantly increased in COPD patients with acute exacerbation, and the increasing concentration can re-flect the severity of the disease,so the serum CRP and IL - 6 are expected to be a useful biological index to estimate the AE-COPD.
