The side effects observation of different infusion methods for elderly patients with rectual cancer or conlon cancer were treated by FOLFOX4

Abstract:Objective:When the elderly patients with rectual cancer or conlon cancer were treated by FOLFOX4 chemo-therapy,to explore whether peripherally Inserted Central Catheters( PICC)is better than past infusion methods. Methods:All 163 patients cured by FOLFOX4 were divided into 3 groups with different infusion methods:PICC group,central venous cathe-terization( CVC)group,superficial vein detaining needle group. To observe the incidence of phlebitis,drug extravasation and pipes blockage after cured by FOLFOX4 for 2~4 weeks. Questionnaire survey to all patients whether quality of life was in-funced by the infusion method. Results:To compare other groups,the rates of phlebitis and drug extravasation were descented significantly(P﹤0. 05). All patients could accept the infusion method. Conclution:PICC was safer and accepted by patiants, could be extended in clinic.
