Study of intensity-modulated radiotherapyin supine and prone position for rectal cancer

Abstract：Toexploretheappropriatepositionintensity-modulatedradiotherapy(IMRT)insupineandprone position with rectal cancer. Methods:Sixty-four patients with rectal cancer were divided into supine position and prone posi-tion. Comparison of radiotherapy adverse reaction and planning target volume,threatening organ dose. Results:No significant differences were noted between prone and supine position groups on dose distribution of planned target areas and dose-volume relationship of dose-threatening organ. Conclusion:IMRT in supine position for rectal cancer seems comparative to that in pro-neosition regarding to both the target coverage and the tolerance of dose-threatening organ.
