Abstract:Objective:To analyze the types and characteristics of decision preferences regarding polypharmacy among elderly patients with cardiometabolic multimorbidity(CMM),and provide a basis for personalized medication management and intervention strategies. Methods:Based on the capability opportunity motivation-behavior model(COM-B),a descriptive qualitative research approach was employed.Purposive sampling was used to recruit 18 elderly patients with cardiometabolic multimorbidity for semi-structured interviews.Interview data were analyzed through content analysis to extract and summarize a labeling system, and a visual user persona was constructed accordingly. Results:The user persona labels of medication decision preferences covered four dimensions:basic characteristics, capability, opportunity, and motivation. The personas were classified into four types:participation decision-making type, independent exploration type, dependent support type, and passive/resistant type. Conclusions:Decision preferences for polypharmacy among elderly CMM patients demonstrate heterogeneity and diversity.Medical staff should formulate personalized medication plans and management strategies based on different preference types to improve patients' medication behavior.
