Abstract:Objective:To explore the categories of nutritional literacy in peritoneal dialysis patients,to analyze their influencing factors, and to compare the differences in dietary adherence behaviors among patients with different categories. Methods:A total of 350 peritoneal dialysis patients from the nephrology department of Eastern Theater General Hospital in Nanjing City were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method from January to December,2024.Surveys were conducted using a general information questionnaire,Nutrition Literacy Assessment Instrument for Peritoneal Dialysis(NLit-PD),and Renal Adherence Behaviour Questionnaire(RABQ).Latent profile analysis was performed using Mplus 8.3.The RABQ scores among peritoneal dialysis patients with different categories of nutritional literacy were compared. Results:The nutritional literacy levels of peritoneal dialysis patients could be classified into three categories, namely low nutritional literacy(61.14%),moderate nutritional literacy with low belief(15.43%),and high nutritional literacy(23.43%).Logistic regression analysis showed that education level, place of residence, dialysis duration, whether they had received dietary training or not,and the frequency of weekly dietary check-ins were influencing factors of nutritional literacy in peritoneal dialysis patients(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in terms of the total RABQ score and scores across all its dimensions among peritoneal dialysis patients with different categories of nutritional literacy(all P<0.05).Conclusions:The nutritional literacy of peritoneal dialysis patients can be categorized into three categories, with different influencing factors and variations in dietary adherence behaviors among the categories.Clinical nursing staff could implement personalized interventions based on the characteristics of each category to improve patients'nutritional literacy and enhance their dietary adherence behaviors.
