Abstract:Objective:To translate the Intentional non-Adherence Scale(INAS)to into Chinese, and to test its reliability and validity in patients with chronic diseases. Methods:Based on the Brislin translation model,INAS was translated, culturally adapted and pre-investigated to form the Chinese version of INAS.By using the convenience sampling method,a total of 385 patients with chronic diseases were selected for a formal investigation. The items of the scale were analyzed. The reliability and validity were tested. Results:The final formed Chinese version of INAS included 4 dimensions and 18 items. The item-level content validity index(I-CVI)ranged from 0.833 to 1.000.The scale-level content validity index(S-CVI)was 0.960.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 4 common factors with eigenvalues greater than 1.The cumulative variance contribution rate was 62.308%.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model's fitting index was good. The criterion-related validity of the Chinese version of INAS and the Chinese version of the Brief Medication Questionnaire was 0.509.The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.872.The test-retest reliability was 0.928.Conclusions:The Chinese version of INAS has good reliability and validity. It is suitable for the assessment of non-compliance with medication in patients with chronic diseases in China.
