Construction of an overall functional assessment system for joint contracture in the elderly

Abstract:Objective:To construct an overall functional assessment system for joint contracture in the elderly based on the International Classification of Functioning,Disability and Health(ICF).Methods:Based on the results of systematic literature review and qualitative interviews,the concepts identified through interviews were associated with the secondary items of ICF through group meetings.The associated items were included and excluded according to the frequency of links.Results:The overall functional assessment system for joint contracture in the elderly included 71 items,among which there were 19 items for physical function,7 items for physical structure,27 items for activity and participation,and 18 items for environmental factors.Conclusions:The overall functional assessment system for joint contracture in the elderly provided effective basis for the early assessment,intervention and rehabilitation plan formulation of joint contracture in the elderly from four fields:physical function,physical structure,activity and participation,and environmental factors.
