Perioperative nursing care of a patient with differentiated thyroid cancer complicated with stiff-person syndrome

Abstract:This paper summarized the perioperative nursing experience of a patient with differentiated thyroid cancer complicated with stiff-person syndrome who underwent thyroidectomy under general anesthesia.Key points of nursing:scientific assessment before surgery and formulation of individualized fall prevention intervention plans;forming a multidisciplinary team and making adequate preparations before the operation to ensure the quality of the surgery;during the operation,taking measures to maintain body temperature and ensure effective temperature stabilization of the patient;identifying the risk factors for intraoperative acquired pressure injuries and ensuring the safety of the supine position;early cervical ice application combined with electro-acupuncture stimulation of the four meridians alleviates postoperative pain;early identification of bleeding occurrence,emergency treatment of hematoma;proper fixation of the tubes to ensure effective drainage;carrying out postoperative follow-up and enhancing the quality of continuous care.After meticulous treatment and care,the patients discharged from the hospital after 7 days of surgery and recovered well.During the follow-up period of 6 months,the patient's condition was restored satisfactorily.
