Practical research on the teaching reform in the emergency and critical care nursing course based on the integration of"post,course,competition,certification,and research"

Abstract：Objective:To explore the practical effect of the teaching reform of the emergency and critical care nursing course based on the integration of"post,course,competition,certification,and research".Methods:Undergraduate nursing students from the class of 2019 and 2021 were selected as the study subjects.Among them,41 undergraduate nursing students from the class of 2019 were assigned to the control group,while 36 undergraduate nursing students from the class of 2021 were assigned to the study group.The patients in control group received traditional teaching methods.The patients in study group were implemented the teaching reform of the emergency and critical care nursing course based on the integration of"post,course,competition,certification,and research".The course scores of the two groups of undergraduate nursing students,as well as the comprehensive abilities and the evaluation results of the course teaching reform of the study group were statistically analyzed.Results:Among the 36 undergraduate nursing students in the study group,33(91.7%)scored above 80 in clinical practical activities.The overall attendance rate was 99.8%.The in-class test score rate was 91.9%.The virtual training score rate was 98.3%.The final theoretical exam score of the study group was 84.44±6.90,which was higher than that of the control group(80.71±7.96).There was a statistically significant difference in terms of the scores between the two groups(t=2.186,P<0.05).In the study group,100.0%of the undergraduate nursing students believed that the teaching reform enhanced their self-directed learning ability,teamwork skills,and information technology application ability.The agreement rate for each item of the teaching reform evaluation spanned from 86.11%to 100.00%.Conclusions:The teaching reform of the emergency and critical care nursing course based on the integration of"post,course,competition,certification,and research"could effectively improve the teaching effect of undergraduate nursing students.
