Abstract:Objective:To investigate the influencing factors of compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment in patients with gastrointestinal adverse reactions following radiotherapy and chemotherapy for malignant tumors. Methods:A total of 294 patients with gastrointestinal adverse reactions following radiotherapy and chemotherapy for malignant tumors at First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were selected as subjects spanned from January 2022 and December 2024.After treatment completion, surveys were conducted to assess patients'compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, demographic data, efficacy indicators, awareness level of wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, discomfort during wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, adverse reactions after wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, and satisfaction with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment.Univariate and multivariate analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment in these patients. Results:Among the 294 patients with gastrointestinal adverse reactions after radiotherapy and chemotherapy for malignant tumors, the 188(63.95%)patients showed high compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, while 106(36.05%)showed low compliance.Multivariate analysis revealed that education level of junior high school or below, unhealthy psychological state, medium to low level of self-efficacy,lack of awareness about wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, and experiencing adverse reactions after wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment were risk factors for low compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment in these patients(all P<0.05).Conclusions:Education level, psychological state,self-efficacy,awareness level of wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment, and adverse reactions after wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment were influencing factors of compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment in patients with gastrointestinal adverse reactions following radiotherapy and chemotherapy for malignant tumors.Targeted intervention measures should be developed based on these influencing factors to improve compliance with wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment in this patient population.
