Abstract:Objective:To develop a self-management scale for patients with pulmonary heart disease based on the Health Action Process Approach(HAPA)model and to validate its reliability and validity. Methods:Guided by the HAPA model, the initial scale was constructed through literature analysis, brainstorming, expert consultation, and a pilot survey.A total of 260 patients with pulmonary heart disease were surveyed from October to December 2024 to conduct item analysis and to assess the scale's reliability and validity. Results:Exploratory factor analysis extracted five common factors, with a cumulative variance explanation rate of 69.989%.The developed self-management scale for patients with pulmonary heart disease included five dimensions:risk perception, outcome expectancy,self-efficacy,action,and coping planning, comprising 27 items in total. The Cronbach's α coefficient of scale was 0.966,split-half reliability was 0.845.Test-retest reliability was 0.886,and content validity index was 0.889.Conclusion:The constructed self-management scale exhibits good scientific rigor and reliability for use in patients with was.It could serve as a tool for assessing self-management abilities in this population.
