Current status and influencing factors of thyroid cancer patients' participation in surgical method decision-making

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the current status of thyroid cancer patients' participation in surgical method decision-making and to explore its influencing factors.Methods:From August to December 2024,293 thyroid cancer patients were selected as research subjects from a tertiary grade A oncology hospital in Tianjin.A questionnaire survey was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire,Decision Conflict Scale(DCS),Decision Readiness Scale,and Patient Treatment Decision Participation Questionnaire.Linear regression analysis was used to identify the influencing factors of thyroid cancer patients' participation in surgical method decision-making.Results:The decision conflict score of 293 thyroid cancer patients was 39.06(23.44,50.00)points.Linear regression analysis showed that occupation category,decision-making type,decision readiness,and actual participation level were the influencing factors of thyroid cancer patients' participation in surgical method decision-making,which could explain 44.8%of the total variation.Conclusions:Thyroid cancer patients have a relatively high level of decision conflict in participating in surgical method decision-making.Medical staff should further explore patients' decision-making needs and develop decision-aid programs in line with China's cultural context based on the influencing factors.It aims to reduce patients' decision conflict,to improve decision-making quality,and to maximize patients' interests.
