Abstract:Objective:To translate the Nursing Student Academic Resilience Inventory(NSARI)into Chinese, and to test its reliability and validity. Methods:According to the Brislin translation model, the Chinese version of NSARI was formed through forward translation, back translation, cultural adaptation and pre-investigation.By using the convenience sampling method,a total of 445 clinical practice nursing students from 4 tertiary grade A hospitals in Hunan province were selected for the investigation to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of NSARI.Results:The Chinese version of NSARI included 4 dimensions and totally 24 items. The overall Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.940.The Cronbach'α coefficients of each dimension ranged from 0.815 to 0.872.The total split-half coefficient of the scale was 0.901.The scale-level content validity index(S-CVI)was 0.977.The item-level content validity index(I-CVI)ranged from 0.818 to 1.000.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 4 common factors, and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 62.504%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fit well. Conclusions:The Chinese version of NSARI has good reliability and validity. It could be used as an effective tool for evaluating the academic resilience level of nursing students during the clinical internship stage in China,so as to provide basis for nursing educators and managers to formulate targeted intervention measures.
