Abstract:Objective:To investigate the status quo of self-reporting of system wet contamination in peritoneal dialysis patients and analyze its influencing factors. Methods:A total of 83 patients who experienced system wet contamination at peritoneal dialysis center in a tertiary grade A hospital in Ganzhou city were selected as the study subjects from January 2018 to December 2023.Data were collected using self-designed general information questionnaires and wet contamination clinical data questionnaires. Results:Among the 83 peritoneal dialysis patients with system wet contamination,36(43.37%)reported the incident them selves. The results of multivariate analysis showed that educational level and the cause of wet contamination were influencing factors of self-reporting of system wet contamination in peritoneal dialysis patients.Among the 36 self-reporting patients,33(91.67%)prophylactically used antibiotics. The incidence of peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis(PDAP)was 22.00%in patients who did not prophylactically use antibiotics, compared to 3.03%in those who did, showing a statistically significant difference(P=0.016).Conclusions:The self-reporting rate of system wet contamination in peritoneal dialysis patients was relatively lower, with educational level and the cause of wet contamination being influencing factors. The rate of preventive use of antibiotics after self-reporting was higher, and such prophylaxis significantly reduced the risk of peritonitis.
