Best evidence summary for the assessment and management of patients with sepsis-associated brain dysfunction

Abstract:Objective:To summarize the best evidence for the assessment and management of patients with sepsis-associated brain dysfunction(SABD).Methods:Literature related to the assessment and management of SABD patients were retrieved from domestic and international databases.Literature types included clinical decision-making,evidence summaries,guidelines,systematic reviews,best practices,and expert consensus.The retrieval time spanned from database establishment to July 2,2024.The quality of the literature was evaluated,and data were extracted.Results:A total of 10 articles were included,comprising 2 expert consensus,2 guidelines,and 6 systematic reviews.The overall quality of the included literature was high.Ultimately,12 best evidence statements were summarized across 4 aspects(influencing factors,assessment and differentiation,monitoring and treatment,and rehabilitation and follow-up).Conclusions:The best evidence for the assessment and management of SABD patients summarized in this study demonstrates scientific validity and practical applicability.It could provide a reference for clinical practice.
