Sinicization of the Presenteeism Scale in Nursing and its reliability and validity test

Abstract：Objective:To translate the Presenteeism Scale in Nursing into Chinese,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:The scale was translated based on the Brislin back translation model.On the basis of expert inquiries and pre-surveys,the scale was culturally adapted to form the Chinese version of the Presenteeism Scale in Nursing.A total of 406 nurses from a tertiary grade A hospital in Henan province were selected as the research subjects.The Chinese version of the Presenteeism Scale in Nursing was used for the investigation to test its reliability and validity level.Results:The Chinese version of Presenteeism Scale in Nursing included 3 dimensions and 17 items.The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.896.The split-half coefficient was 0.883.And the test-retest reliability was 0.886.The item-level content validity index(I-CVI)ranged from 0.859 to 1.000.And the scale-level content validity index(S-CVI)was 0.894.Exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors.And the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 84.309%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fit well.Conclusions:The Chinese version of Presenteeism Scale in Nursing has good reliability and validity.It could be used to measure the presenteeism behavior of nurses.
