Sinicization of the Situational Emotional Response Scale and its reliability and validity test

Abstract：Objective:To translate and validate the Situation-Based Emotional Reaction Scale into Chinese,so as to provide an effective tool for evaluating the emotional skills and emotional reactions of nursing interns in the situation of nurse-patient conflict.Methods:The Brislin translation back model was used to translate the English version ERES into Chinese according to the localization principle.A total of 10 experts were invited to conduct cross-cultural debugging of the scale.After expert consultation and pre-survey,the Chinese version of ERES was formed.A total of 547 nursing interns were investigated by convenience sampling method.The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ERES were verified by exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis and internal consistency test.Results:The Chinese version of ERES included 4 dimensions(good communication and positive emotional influence,exploration of patients'inner states and empathy and listening abilities,emotional self-regulation and result oriented thinking,appropriate self-assessment and personal development abilities),and totally 28 items.Exploratory factors extracted four common factors.And the cumulative variance contribution rate was 73.425%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fitness index of the initial model did not achieve the expected effect.After adjustment,the fit index reached an acceptable level.The test-retest reliability of the Chinese version of ERES was 0.824.The split-half reliability was 0.903.And the Cronbach'sα coefficient was 0.898.Conclusions:The Chinese version of ERES showed good reliability and validity,which was suitable to evaluate the emotional response and emotional skills of nursing interns in nurse-patient conflict situation in China.
